Inside The WW2 Offices Set To Be Restored For Onsite Museum

Inside the old Squadron offices on site, you can find the office of Captain Powell.

Using just the information from his door, we can establish Captain Powell was part of the Glider Pilot Regiment, a British Army regiment. Our research suggests that this man could therefore be, Kenneth Walter Powell.

Born 23rd February 1920, Powell was commissioned into The Royal Norfolk Regiment in April 1943 and was then transferred to the Glider Pilot Regiment in November.

By September 1944, he was a Section Commander which we believe is the position he held while using this office at Rivenhall.

Captain Kenneth Walter Powell lived to the age of 82. His door will be removed and preserved so that his memory can be honoured in our museum.
